Northrop Grumman Space Technology supports a number of educational initiatives that focus on increasing the number of individuals entering math, science and technical fields

NGST has been a strong supporter of the California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS) since its inception. The purpose of CAMS is to increase the number of women and minorities entering math, science and engineering fields. Our efforts have created classrooms for students, an NGST executive participates on the Corporate Advisory Committee and gives the school direction on curriculum, and a mentoring program puts students in contact with NGST employees throughout the year.

The Partner in Education Program represents NGST's formal relationship with seven local schools situated in culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. We assist by providing resources to help meet the school's educational needs to develop and implement programs that will provide technical orientation for teachers and students.

The Wonder of Reading is a program that renovates and restocks elementary school libraries at highly diverse schools throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District. Employee volunteers can become reading partners with the students to help inspire a love of reading.

FIRST Robotics Competition is a program in which our engineers partner with a team of high school students to design and build a robot to participate in a national competition.
