Our Focus

Northrop Grumman believes in supporting organizations that strive to make our neighboring communities better places for our employees to live and work. Northrop Grumman Space Technology awards grants based on the following criteria:

  • Support to K-12 education, especially math and science
  • Communities where our employees live and work, typically the South Bay
  • Organizations that are supported by significant Northrop Grumman employee volunteerism

Our Requirements

Organizations requesting contributions and grants must be registered as a non profit, 501 (c)(3) organization with the Internal Revenue Service. Generally, applicants may not receive more than one contribution or grant annually, either from Northrop Grumman Space Technology Direct Giving or the Northrop Grumman Foundation.

Restrictions

Space Technology's Direct Giving does not fund:

  • Organizations which do not have a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status
  • Individuals
  • Religious organizations
  • Political candidates or lobbying organizations
  • Sponsorships or advertising
  • Team sponsorships, sports event or athletic scholarships
  • Choirs, bands or drill teams
  • Tuition
  • Capital campaigns

Our Process

Each spring and fall, our contributions committee meets to evaluate each request and makes recommendations to management based on our criteria. Northrop Grumman Space Technology makes contributions twice a year (spring and fall).

In order to be considered, completed applications must be received no later than the deadline listed below. All attachments specified in the application must be included with the request.

2008 Contribution Deadlines:
     Spring deadline - April 30
     Fall deadline - September 30
