The Astro Telescopic Boom provides high performance and flexibility over a wide range of lengths and stiffnesses. In addition, the design incorporates a staged deployment feature and retractability for ground testing and specialized on-orbit applications. Flight qualified hardware has been produced that shows its high stiffness and strength capability in a low-weight package.
