A radar-commanded, point-and-shoot active protection system developed by Northrop Grumman provides hard kill defense capable of defeating a wide range of threats. This fast action, radar controlled, rocket based system can detect, track, intercept and defeat threats at a distance sufficient enough to ensure asset protection. The system may be mounted on moving platforms or as a stationary defense for asset protection of vehicles, platforms and fixed sites. Potential missions include protection of armored vehicles, rotary wing aircraft, ships, special crafts, ports, airfields/airstrips, and coastal waters.

The Northrop Grumman Asset Protection System is the culmination of 23 years of active protection and system development work. This effort was performed by Northrop Grumman Space Technology in support of the Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center. The radar-commanded, point-and-shoot system can detect, track, intercept and defeat threats at a distance sufficient enough to ensure the vehicle's survival on the battlefield.
