The scope of allowable work on ATSP2 is very broad, but must focus on microelectronics or software and applications that may include: preliminary analysis and trade studies, prototype development and demonstrations, full-scale development, integration and test, qualification, and limited production. Tasks not allowed include “brick and mortar”, procurement of off-the-shelf items, and high-volume production contracts.
ATSP2 provides rapid, streamlined contracting for:
- Advanced microelectronics technology insertions and applications –
- Hardware studies, analysis, design, simulation, fabrication, packaging, prototyping, integration, and testing
- Software studies, analysis, and architecture development; software design, coding, simulation, prototyping, integration, and testing
- Form-fit-function replacements (from components to systems) –
- Studies, analysis, design, simulation, fabrication, packaging, prototyping, integration, and testing
- Discrete electronics, integrated circuit components, multi-chip modules, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, subsystems and complete systems
- Limited production –
- When considered advantageous to the Government
- Applies only to products developed on ATSP2
