Technicians at Northrop Grumman Space Technology are installing thrusters on the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) spacecraft structure.  The structure is a central cylinder, known as an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA), or ESPA ring, a six-foot diameter ring with six portholes used to attach secondary structure for the solar array and radiator panels.  The spacecraft subsystems and science instruments and electronics are mounted onto the inside face of the panels. LCROSS is set to launch in October 2008 on its mission to find water ice on the Moon.
