Readied for Environmental Testing

NASA's Aqua spacecraft structural assembly is shown being lifted vertically and placed on an in-plant transporter in preparation for vibration tests at Northrop Grumman's Space Park facility. Mass models of the spacecraft's science instruments and bus electronic components were integrated onto the structural assembly to give accurate representation of how the completed spacecraft will respond to the forces of vibration during launch. Northrop Grumman is building the Aqua and Aura spacecraft for NASA/GSFC under the EOS Common Spacecraft program.
