Aqua During Electrical Integration

NASA's Aqua spacecraft is shown during electrical integration at Northrop Grumman's Space Park manufacturing facility. Subsystem electronics for the spacecraft's science instruments are mounted on easily accessible panels, shown in the photo, which speeds integration and test. The science instruments are mounted on the opposite side. Northrop Grumman's T330 standardized, modular design allows instruments to be attached to the spacecraft in any order. Following launch, Aqua will provide comprehensive measurements that will allow scientists to assess long-term change, identify its human and natural causes and advanced the development of models for long-term forecasting. Aqua is a part of NASA's Earth Science Enterprise, a long-term study of the scope, dynamics and implications of global change.
