Deployment of Aqua's Eight Instruments

Animation depicts Aqua's eight instruments deploying to provide unprecedented views of the planet at work. The instruments simultaneously measure many contributors to climatic change. Six years of daily observations will paint an exceptionally detailed portrait of the Earth, providing the data needed to chart the processes of the biosphere, measure their interactions and link unsuspected causes to long-term effects. The instrument deployment sequence begins with the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR-E) (the big dish) deployment and concludes with the opening of instrument covers of the Clouds and the Earth Radiant Energy System.
