The Northrop Grumman-built Aura spacecraft is based on T-330 design, the same platform hosting Aura’s fraternal sibling, Aqua. Both spacecraft were built as a part of NASA’s Earth Observing System to gather measurements on global climate change. The versatile spacecraft is modular with common subsystems and adapts easily to the mission specific needs of Aura, Aqua and future earth observing missions. The line drawing shows the location of Aura’s four instruments onboard the spacecraft.
