Australia Telescope Receiver Which Incorporates Velocium-fabricated InP Integrated Circuits
Receivers such as this one enable the newly upgraded Australia Telescope to make observations at frequencies up to 100 billion cycles per second (100 GHz). The telescope has just produced new, detailed observations of Centaurus A, the nearest galaxy harboring a supermassive black hole.
Indium phosphide low-noise amplifiers and digital receiver chips, designed by CSIRO engineers and fabricated by Velocium, are key components of the high-performance receivers.
