Galaxy Centaurus A (NGC 5128)
Observations made by the recently upgraded radio telescope have revealed more detail than was previously possible about the Galaxy Centaurus A, shown here in an image from the Anglo-Australian Observatory. Spectral observations made by te Australia Telescope of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, at radio frequencies as high as 100 billion cycles per second, have enabled scientisits to trace the infalling and outflowing gas around the central, supermassive black hole in this galaxy.
